Course Goals

  1. To develop personal goals and team-related goals that promote success through identity and actions while cultivating positive lifelong habits.
  2. To develop personal skills necessary for leadership positions and shape leaders who delegate and take initiative.
  3. To develop and apply communication skills while promoting school culture. Communicating effectively includes, but is not limited to, the following: tone, body language, and public perception as an athlete.
  4. To shape the athletic atmosphere that creates a positive culture through extrinsic and intrinsic motivation.
  5. To transfer knowledge and skills learned in class to school and athletics.
  6. To develop skills in problem solving and create positive sportsmanship with a focus on performance, attitude, adverse situations, public perception, and teamwork.
  7. To show gratitude through personal reflection and daily practices from motivational readings.
  8. To develop mental practices for athletic readiness through visualization of successes and failures
